TRUST & SAFETY
Control is part of the attack architecture.
zer0cipher is designed around explicit scope, operating mode, risk tolerance, execution records, and prohibited actions. We publish the controls that exist and qualify stronger guarantees before making them.

What every engagement runs inside — and never does.
Runs insideAuthorized controls
- ScopeTargets and exclusions define the authorized network boundary.
- Operating modeGuided uses approvals; autopilot continues inside configured policy.
- Risk ceilingA per-engagement limit on what classes of work should be considered.
- Kill switchPause, cancel, and terminal finalization stop the engagement lifecycle.
Never doesProhibited actions
- Password changes
- Destructive deletion
- Reboots & shutdowns
- Availability disruption
- Persistence
- Security-control tampering
Deliberate by design
Safer defaults, and a real stop.
01Reduce authentication risk deliberately.
Authentication budgets, lockout-aware behavior, credential suitability, and validation memory reduce unnecessary attempts and avoid treating every credential artifact as usable access.
No control justifies an absolute claim that lockouts can never occur. Qualification evidence stays tied to the tested release and environment.
02Stop the lifecycle, not only the interface.
Pause, cancel, and terminal finalization coordinate task state and managed background-service cleanup, so stopping the engagement stops the work behind it.
Release qualification must verify that no post-terminal offensive dispatch continues.
How we talk about it
Publish the controls that exist. Qualify the rest.
What we do not claimWe do not describe the prohibited-action policy as an immutable cross-system guarantee. The enforcement and qualification evidence available for a proposed release are reviewed during deployment planning, and stronger guarantees are qualified against the tested release and environment before we make them.
